Is It Too Late for America?

I have a very serious question for you. “Have we waited too late?” I believe with all of my heart that there is a God in heaven who with passion wants to bless and guide us. He has told us, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (II Chronicles 7:14).

The people of God made this “too late” declaration in Jeremiah 8:20, “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” It was over. They went into captivity. God used the Babylonians to judge them, and this is the summary of what happened. It was too late.

We Must Receive the Word of God. They Did Not.

“The wise men were ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?” (Jeremiah 8:9)

We Must Be Thorough and Let God Be Thorough With Us. They Were Not.

“For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.” (Jeremiah 8:11)

We Must Be Ashamed of Our Sin. They Were Not.

“Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.” (Jeremiah 8:12)

We Must Be Urgent. They Were Not.

“The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” (Jeremiah 8:20)

We Must Identify with the Hurt of Others. They Did Not.

“For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt…” (Jeremiah 8:21)

We Must Apply the Healing Balm. They Did Not.

“Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?” (Jeremiah 8:22)

We Must Continue Seeking God. They Did Not.

“Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!” (Jeremiah 9:1)

Do you believe it is too late? Is the hand of God’s judgment already released and the fire about to fall? Oh yes, we have sown and we are going to reap, but is there still time for revival? I believe there is.

That is all I am praying for. Will you pray with me?
